SINGAPORE – April 2018Anacle Systems Limited (“Anacle”), together with its joint venture partner, Enjoytown (Hangzhou) Holdings (“Enjoytown”), signed an agreement with the Management Committee of Hangzhou Qianjiang Century City at the 13th Singapore-Zhejiang Economic and Trade Council (“SZETC”) meeting in Zhoushan city.

The agreement marks another milestone in Anacle’s entry into China as the local authorities welcome the roll-out of Anacle’s smart city solution platform across ten towns as part of the first phase.

In line with the Belt and Road Initiative (“BRI”), which seeks to enhance regional connectivity and economic growth, the Chinese Central Government is focused on urbanization, infrastructure investment, innovation-driven economic growth as well as environmental sustainability. Among other targets outlined in the 13th Five-Year Plan, the Chinese Central Government has targeted an increase in urbanization ratio to 60% and the creation of 50 million jobs along with targets to cut carbon density up to 45% by 2020 (relative to 2015).

With such an urban population growth, the level of carbon emissions will also rise, in line with power usage and transportation, among other variables. Making cities smarter is the way to achieve the seemingly conflicting targets of economic growth and carbon emission reduction. The smart city solution platform, designed by Anacle will enable cities to operate and manage themselves seamlessly, from enforcing security to ensuring power stability as well as maintaining and automating services and infrastructure.

“Trade and economic ties between Singapore and Zhejiang have been growing steadily. The 14 project collaborations signed today are testaments to Singapore’s continued strong interest in the province. As a global maritime, logistics and energy hub, Singapore and our companies are well-placed to partner Chinese firms to contribute to the development of the China (Zhejiang) Pilot Free Trade Zone. In addition, Singapore’s position as a key node along the Belt and Road makes us an ideal partner for Zhejiang enterprises expanding to Southeast Asia.” noted Ms. Sim Ann, Senior Minister of State for Trade and Industry of Singapore.

Marking its expansion into China, Anacle will be setting up its Asia Pacific research and design (R&D) centre at Qianjiang Century City with its JV partner, Enjoytown. The R&D centre will focus on artificial intelligence and blockchain technology.

Tapping on the advanced communications infrastructure in Hangzhou, the smart city solution platform developed by Anacle- Enjoytown will harness the power of artificial intelligence and blockchain technology.

“With a ready pool of talent and a receptive environment where the lifestyle revolves around new technology, we are excited to see how far and fast our solutions can grow in this tech cradle.” Said Mr. Alex Lau, CEO of Anacle.
